Meetings and Events

Please note that for the next few months we will be trying our new meeting spaces to fit our growing guild!

May 15 Guild Meeting: 12-4 at Crossings, 320 East Avenue, Zumbrota, MN.  (Note a new meeting space!)

We will celebrate Springtime in MN with 1) a slide show of pictures taken by members of their projects; 2) a description of ways to be involved in the Olmsted County Fair by Kaye Johnson; and the Show and Tell Parade – a cross between a Fashion Show and Show and Tell.  Bring your work to wear and show everyone! Social hour is from noon to one. The meeting will then start at 1:00 p.m.

June Meeting, Wednesday, June 19: 1-4 at the Rochester Area Foundation, 12 Elton Hills Dr. NW, Rochester.  (Note a new meeting space!) Our guest speaker, Ansley Travo, a cobbler, was not able to join us in May, so she will do so at this meeting. Ansley Travo, a recent high school graduate, is apprenticing as a cobbler and now works at Luya Shoes in Zumbrota. She will share how she chose a career path in making and repairing shoes and what she has learned. In addition, hear about how to photograph outdoors by the photographers in our midst who have done so. Social hour is from noon to one. The meeting will start at 1:00 p.m.

Textiles and Tea

Textiles & Tea The Handweavers Guild of America, Inc.’s (HGA) interview series, Textiles & Tea, takes place every Tuesday at 3 PM (CT). We’ve invited some of the most respected fiber artists in the field today to join us for an hour-long conversation where we will discuss their artwork and their creative journey. Focus Groups

We offer ten or more different focus groups. Members are welcome to join as many groups as they wish. Each group meets separately to study and share information about the different types of fiber art. Click here to find out what types of groups we offer. For more information as to when they meet, check with your monthly membership newsletter or contact zumbroriverfiberarts@gmail.com.
