The welcoming reception for the “Celebrating Fiber Arts” exhibit was held on April 4, 2025. This display, at the Rochester Art Center, features the rich and diverse world of fiber arts through member’s work. Framed and scroll-mounted works in the Entry Gallery highlight the beauty and function of fiber in everyday life. The atrium focuses on a multi-story fiber river and falls, with hoops filled with fiber art at each balcony, overlooking the river. The exhibit runs through March of 2026.
Marica Krieger and Sandy Siewert organized the framed work and the many scrolls. Some pieces shown were the work of many members combined and some were individual works. All of these displays used different techniques from knitting, weaving, felting, quilting, surface design and many more.
The Atrium showcased a massive river and waterfall designed by Pat Kimble, Collette Arkens and Marcia Krieger. This river was made with yards and yards of material, ribbon, lace and other fibers. The rocks were felted from wool. Many members put time and effort into creating this. Large hoops were placed nearby showcasing different fiber art medias.
