The Saturday Focus Group met yesterday, August 1st, to learn about Kumohimo cording. Terinee Stangler showed the group how to make these cords which can be used for multiple purposes. This group usually meets the first Saturday of the month at the Kasson Public Library.

Minnesota Quilt Show
Char Wenger showed her quilt at the annual Minnesota Quilt Show held last week. Her beautiful quilt included piecing, applique and several other techniques.

Surface Design Focus Group Rust and Dye
Recently the Surface Design and Dye Focus Group meet for a couple of sessions to rust some fabric and then over dye with indigo. I heard they had lots of fun!
Paris Morthorpe teaches Crewel Embroidery Class
A dozen members got a chance to work with Paris Morthorpe to learn about Crewel Embroidery. Paris has received diplomas from the The Royal School of Needlework in London, where she studied. Paris to create a traditional Crewelwork ’Spring Tulip’ that she designed. Students used linen and crewel wool to make the project.
